Synopsis: In this unit, students will examine the 1994 Rwandan genocide, including the following:
1. The historical basis for conflicts between Hutus and Tutsis in Burundi, Congo and Rwanda.
2. Some versions of events that occurred in Burundi in 1972 and in Rwanda in the spring of 1994.
3. Current issues that have arisen in this area since 1994.
